Just how much is Noah Syndergaard worth? No, not his value in the Mets starting rotation. I mean Syndergaard’s net worth, as in dollars. Let’s see how rich Noah Syndergaard really is.

Career Earnings

Noah Syndergaard’s career earnings are $11,126,312. Syndergaard was paid an initial $600,000 signing bonus with the Blue Jays when Toronto selected him in the first round of the 2010 MLB draft. While still in the minors, he was traded to the Mets in December of 2012.

After eventually making it to the big leagues, Syndergaard earned $410,437 in 2015. He was paid $535,375 in 2016, $605,500 in 2017, $2,975,000 in 2018 and $6,000,000 in 2019. Noah showed he’s interested in trying to make those past earnings last by winning CNBC’s 2019 Stock Draft.

2020 Salary

Before the 2020 season, Syndergaard signed a 1 year / $9,700,000 guaranteed contract with the New York Mets. The start of the season then got derailed with the coronavirus shutdown. MLB owners and the players union reached a deal to pro-rate the salaries of all players depending on how many games eventually get played. So Noah will get some percentage of the $9,700,000.

Noah Syndergaard’s Home

Syndergaard used some of his earnings in 2018 to rent an apartment on West 42nd Street in NYC known as “Sky”. It’s NYC’s largest rental building and is a hotspot for New York athletes with it’s Hudson River views. Noah had a two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment, situated at a corner of the building. He gives a room by room tour in this video.

In May of 2020 Syndergaard became embroiled in a dispute with the landlord, 600 Summer LLC, of a Manhattan penthouse. Noah was sued for failing to pay any rent on the $27,000-a-month Tribeca penthouse at 116 Hudson Street. Syndergaard had signed an eight-month lease on the three-bedroom, 2,700-square-foot duplex back in February. The lease was supposed to begin on March 20th and go until November 30th.

Free Agent Contract

Syndergaard can become a free agent at the end of the 2021 season. He underwent Tommy John surgery shortly after the Mets 2020 spring training was shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Noah had the elbow operation on March 26, 2020 in West Palm Beach, Fla. He’s not expected back on a big league mound until the middle of the 2021 season.

As to how much Syndergaard can expect in free agency, before the pandemic and the surgery he had big dreams.

“It’s getting close to crunch time for me. My window is closing for maximizing a potential big-time extension or free-agent contract. You look at Gerrit Cole’s path that he took (referencing Cole’s $324 million contract with the Yankees). Him and I had very similar numbers at the same age, the same point in our careers. If I could follow his footsteps, that’s a really nice payday.”
